10 Dog Breeds That Still Look Young Even When They Grow Old

“No matter how you’re feeling, a little dog gonna love you.” – Waka Flocka Flame

Dog owners have different tastes when it comes to dogs. Some like big dogs, some like cute dogs, some like dogs that are easy to train, and some like dogs that are cat-friendly

We love to capture every milestone our furry friend takes, from being a small puppy that can barely run around to adult dogs that sometimes have a mind of their own. There are, however, dogs that seem to never grow old. If you like your first dog or next dog to still look like adorable puppies after so many years then here are 10 dog breeds that stay looking young even when they grow old:

Beagles

A big favorite of American households, beagles keep the expressive face and huge eyes from their puppyhood to adulthood. The only difference is their ears that grow more floppy and big as they grow old. If kept active and fit, beagles will probably behave like puppies for the most part of their lives.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

The Cavalier King Charles spaniels maintain their large eyes, droopy ears, and size their entire lives. They are gentle, loving, and love to snuggle. You won’t be able to resist their twinkling eyes and wagging tail.

Cocker Spaniels

Cocker spaniels will always have that totally cute curly fur, happy smile, and adorable long ears that you can’t resist petting. They are a smart breed and they love taking long walks and playing even in adulthood.

Pomeranians

Pomeranians are one of the sweetest dogs and they retain their sweet puppy attitude until well into adulthood. They also retain their lively and playful disposition as they grow old.

Pugs

Pugs have a pleasant and amusing personality starting from their puppy days until they grow old. Although they have a tendency to gray around their muzzle as they age, it’s still difficult to tell if they are young or old as they also keep their wrinkly faces, sparkling eyes, and mischievousness all their lives.

Maltese

With their flowy white fur, the Maltese look absolutely adorable whether young or old. They stay small all their lives and getting them regular haircuts will help maintain their puppy look.

Toy Fox Terrier

A lovely mix of a lapdog and a terrier, the Toy Fox Terrier has big ears and big bright eyes. They are charismatic, friendly,  loving, and tenacious. They have lots of energy and love playing and running around. Only their ears grow as they age.

Yorkshire Terrier

Playful and feisty, the Yorkshire Terrier is one of the toy-sized dogs that have a personality bigger than they are. Yorkies have a beautiful long and flowing coat that they maintain throughout their life. They grow a little as they age but their lively and loving personality remains.

Shih Tzu

Shih Tzus have large dark eyes and innocent puppy face that they keep until they’re old. They are friendly, playful, and sweet-tempered. They retain their size and young look forever.

Chihuahua

Small and spunky, Chihuahuas will retain their size and attitude until they grow old. They are smart, energetic, and they respond well to being trained. These little bundles of joy and energy have a tendency to take charge so you might have to teach them who’s the boss.
